Do you want to be TAGGED?
Have you ever seen a Tag? What is the purpose of a Tag? There are many kinds of Tags in the world to accomplish many different purposes. Dogs , Cats, and most domesticated critters wear tags to identify who their owner is and maybe if they have had the proper vaccination. Shopping Outlets use tags to tell how much something cost or who the designer or creator is. Some people wear medical tags to show allergies or health issues they have. However there is one thing that all these tags have in common. They refer you back to the owner, the maker, the beneficary, the one that is to take care of the situation when the animal gets lost, the one to take it back when the merchandise is not quite what we bargained for, or the one you call when there is a anaflactic shock that causes the whole body to shut down. The tag refers you back to the one in control. So what does it mean for us to be TAGGED?
My husband, David, and I were saved and accepted Jesus Christ as our personal savior when we were younger children. And as the majority of teenagers do, we both strayed some what from the plan that God had for us at that time. Let’s say we were not using our tallents for the cause of Christ. Even though we were in different cities, and were worlds apart from the groups of people that we hung out with, God had a plan in motion to bring together two people that he had created for one another. My husband grew up in South Georgia, in Barnesville. I grew up in North Georgia, In Blairsville. When my husband was 15, his parents felt God calling them to move to Hiawassee, GA. So at this point God had already set the plan in motion. My Husband is 5 years older than I am, so needless to say, we hung out with VERY DIFFERENT people, and by any standard, our paths would not have crossed. But there is no limit to God’s awesomeness! In fall of 2006, our paths did cross, we fell in love and were married in fall of 2007.
Let me pause there and say that my father is a pastor, and my husband was also raised in church, however we had both kind of…. stepped back from church. At the beginning of our courtship, I went for the Sunday morning at 11:00, my husband at the time did not have a church, and even though we were Christians, we certainly were not living it out.
SO! With that all said, over the course of the next few years, God would begin to mold my husband and I into the man and woman that he had predestined for us to be. Over the years, we would become more active in church and in ministry in general, and our personal relationships as well as our marriage wih God would began to grow and really take shape.
In 2011, I attended a bible study on the book of Revelation. In a portion of that study, we studied on the passage of Revelation 9:4, and Ezekiel 9:4:
Revelation9:4 – And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
Ezekiel 9:4- And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
The point of the study is once we accept Jesus Chirst as our personal God sets a mark on us. We can’t see this mark, and we can’t see each other’s marks, but the beings of the spiritual realm, God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, Angels, Satan, and his Demons, can all see this mark. This mark distinguishes us as Children of God. As we live our lives here, so many times we dont know if people oare Christians or not. We try to look at each others lives, our actions, our attitudes, but sometimes you just can’t tell if that person is a Christian or not. But what if?….. What if we did all physcially bare the mark of Chirst on us? What if we could all see that mark that is on our fourheads hat the spiritual beings see? Would that change the way we act? Would that change the wy we conduct business? For the teenagers that are on a date and about to make a decision that could alter their lives forever, would it changetheir minds if they could look up and see that mark on their partner’s forehead. For those churhc people who praise Jesus on Sunday and treat people like dirt (and yes there are church people that treat people worse than dirt… I am just saying) the rest of the week; if their vicitim could hold a mirror in front of them to remind them of the mark in their forehead, would it change things? If that mark could be seen by human beings, we would know exactly who their owner is, we know exactly where to bring them back to when they get lost, when the merchandise is not reflecting what scripture says it should, we know where to return it to, and when Satan inflicts the body with such turmoil, there is a TAG to show us who to call! Jesus Christ shed his blood to pay the price for our sins, and once we accept him as our personal Savior, God will TAG us as His children, and then it is up to us to live in His Holy Spirit.
I went home from this bible study and told my husband, I dont ever want there to be a question for any person that there is a mark on my forehead! I want to live my life for Chirst so that when people look at my life, they don’t see me, all they see is that mark that is put there by the blood and love of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. My husband was in full agreement! Being the amazing spiritual leader that he is, he is there to pray for me and encourage me every day to be the woman that God has called me to be. I also lift him up to God, for Strentgh to be my leader, stay founded in God, and our marriage will always reflect God’s love.
Over the next few years, God would continue to mold us and shape us. We sold our home, and almost everything we own to persue the life that God has for us. As we have grown together, it is amazing that God put us together, because my husband has a passion for Men’s Ministry and I have a passion for Women’s Ministry. I know that is simple, but it blows me away at God’s Awesomeness that he looked down all these years later at our paths and knew his plans for us, and knew that we were a team he needed to be together. God has prospered us, and blessed us more than words can describe. To see his love, deliverance, grace and mercy abound in our lives every single day in remarkable. Do we struggle with things of the world? ABSOLUTELY! But that is where God always shows up! My husband and I have both been bought by The Son, TAGGED by The Father, and we are doing our best to live in The Holy Spirit. We encourage you to take a look in the mirror, do you see the mark on your forehead? Can others see it? Have you been TAGGED?
