“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” – James 2:10 KJV

Over the course of the last year, the Lord has really been driving a point home for me. Apparently I am hard headed. I spoke to this point at our womens conference in September, and I beleive it is something we can all agree on on a very extreme high level overview. However lately Satan has just really been ercking my nerve and God is having to repeatedly reminding me of this fact. He says, “Jess I think we need a quick review of that.”

And I think it is a good refresher for all of us in the light of the recent election.

Now I am about to make another statement that I feel like we will agree on. If you have lived on Earth for any extended period of time, you have probably, at some point, had the thought that people suck. Don’t be shy! You can admit it – this is a safe place here.

I will admit it. I think it….. frequently….. hence why God frequently gives me this reminder.

We are not better than anyone. And I know what you’re thinking. Oh yes – we are all created equal! But really, think about that on a deeper level. James Chapter 2 tells us that if you have sinned in one area, you have sinned in all. So no matter what sin you committ, whether it is lying, stealing, addicted to porn, alcohol, drugs, or what have you, you are a sinner. And the the catch is we are all sinners. Every. Single. One of Us. You van try to live a good life, but you still sin everyday, because your human.

Now because we are all sinners, we are all equal in God’s eyes. At Jesus’ feet where we find redemption, forgiveness, and love, we are all equal. No big I’s and little U’s. God loves us all equally. Therefore you are not better than anyone. You aren’t better than the murders, or Isis people. You aren’t better than the democrat/republican that keeps posting junk on your facebook wall. You aren’t better than that….. you know what she is…. who stands beside you in the choir every Sunday.

As Christians, and followers of Jesus Christ, God has called us to he unified and work together.

If I can be so frank, do people in your family suck, yes. Do people at you job suck, yes. Do people in your church suck, yes. We all have horrible attitudes from time to time. But it is time for us to remember that this journey in life is not about us. Its about HIM, and HIS purpose, and HIS glory, and spreading HIS love, and not spreading our anger and hate.

Dear God,

I thank you for allowing us to live in a world full of your creation. You created each man, woman, boy, and girl special in your specific design. As we reflect on how your creation seemlessly works together, and we love all your creations in the world, help us to remember we are each part of that creation, and we should love each other and work in unity as the rest of your creation does. We Praise Your Greatness! Amen
