Have you ever looked around and realized you were standing in the middle of what you prayed for? And not only are you standing in an answered prayer, but the answer was so much more that you every prayed for. God not only answered, but came through in a more beautiful way than you ever imagined. Has this ever happened to you?

We sold our home in 2014. We had planned to look for property to build another home, a much smaller home. Our first house was way too much house for us. As we searched for property, we prayed that God would show us where we were supposed to be. We wanted to be right in the middle of God’s will; living where he wanted us to live, so we could serve the community and people where he wanted us to serve. So we prayed and searched, and prayed and searched. After six long years, we stumbled upon this amazing property off of Mulky Gap.

We began courting this property in August of 2020. We met the owners, we walked the property, we prayed standing on the property, we were certain this was what God wanted for us. Once we started the steps to purchase the property, we kept running into obstacles. But at each obstacle, we didn’t push and try to make things happen; we sat back, prayed, waited, and let God do His will in His time. In case you have never waited on God, sometimes His will and His time are longer than yours are…. try 10 months longer.

Finally, on June 17 of 2020, it was ours! Two and a half acres of unrestricted land where the sky was the limit. The day the land became ours we came to OUR property, and again prayed. We dedicated it to The Lord. We wanted this place to be a home that honored God. A place that brought glory to Him. A place where people can come and be at peace, and feel the Holy Spirit.

After David starting cleaning up the property (it was a pasture that had not been used for several years), we made a startling discovery. As he began cleaning up brush and vines that had grown over the years, we found ALOT of random things. Years old beer cans, glass bottles, random golf balls; things that just didn’t make sense. Was this a place where people dumped trash?

After sharing with some of our friends where our new home was, God showed us we were meant to be here and restore this property to bring Glory and Honor to him in a place that used to be a place of darkness. Over 10 years prior to us purchasing this land, this was the party place. Turned out that a previous owner of the property that borders ours was the host of outrageous parties. In all the frivolities, the party activities would spill over into the pasture, what is now our property. The owners of the pasture at the time were not yet in Blairsville full time and were unaware of the happenings, and so were unable to put a stop to rambunctious behavior of their neighbor and his “friends”.

Before it was our beautiful creek side valley, this was the place of sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

We were blown away! All the trash made sense now. The random golf balls we still find (10 months later) make us chuckle and praise God at the same time. This property that was ravaged with sinful activity, was now being given a new life for the Glory of God.

To glorify God is our number one goal. Whether it’s through our gardens, our community events (hope to host soon), or just making every person who stops here feel like family, we want to uplift God in everything we do. We are trying new things! From raising chickens, to gardening (everything from vegetables to fruits and flowers), to making a butterfly garden and rest stations where people can come and just sit, be peaceful and experience the Holy Spirit. We want everyone who passes by to know this is a dwelling place of the Lord.
